Lab Exam Grading

            16 plants = 160 total points possible

The plants are each worth ten points.

No Cultivar     Genus = 4       Species = 3     Common name = 1     Family = 2

With Cv. Genus = 4            Species = 2       Cultivar = 1    Common name = 1     Family = 2

Genus only Genus = 6                     Common name = 2     Family = 2

One point for correct species if Genus is not known or is incorrect.

l.          a.  For partially correct common names (such as Maple for Red Maple), 1/2 point will be

 given.

            b.  Deduct one point for cultivar names without cv. or single quotes.

            c.  Deduct one point for genus names not capitalized.

            d.  Deduct one point for capitalized species names.

            e.  Exams written entirely in capitals will not be accepted.

            f.   Any spelling errors result in the loss of one or more points per misspelled name.

            g.  Unreadable handwriting should be treated as misspelled or totally incorrect.

            h.  Deduct 1/2 point for scientific names that are not underlined.
