1. Family definitions

Some plant taxonomists now combine the Family Taxodiaceae with the Cupressaceae

in Unit 13. For our purposes, we will keep them separate, since most of the reference

books also keep them separate.

Sciadopitys is sometimes separated as its own Family Sciadopityaceae.
