1. Cedar apple rust disease

The native Juniperus virginiana (Eastern Red Cedar) is the alternate host for part of the

life cycle of the cedar apple rust fungus which can be seen on apples and crabapples.

Except for yellow finger like structures in the spring, you typically see cherry sized

irregular brown growths on the young stems.
