1. Kerria and Rhodotypos (unit 026)


Kerria japonica has green stems all the way back to the ground. The leaves are nearly

identical to those of Rhodotypos scandens. The key difference is that Rhodotypos has

white flowers with 4 petals, while Kerria japonica has yellow flowers with 5 petals.

Rhodotypos has showy black fruit in clusters of 3 or 4, while Kerria has fruit that are

not showy.
