1. Ornamental Vegetables

Brassica oleracea has some colorful ornamental cabbage and kale.

Crambe maritima or Sea Kale is a European seacoast plant with large wavy, bluish

leaves.

2. Cleome hasslerana or Spider Flower

This is one of my favorite plants with large flower clusters that are spider like. It will

seed itself and come up the next season, which some growers don’t like. It is from

Brazil and related areas, and has sticky hairs on the stems and short, sharp spines at

the base of the petioles.
