There is no set time for a kitten to recover from FKS. Sometimes you are lucky, and the kitten recovers with 30-60 minutes. Other times, it takes a kitten a few hours to fully recover and be able to stand, move, and eat again. (We should note how important it is that you never try to feed a kitten suffering from FKS. Meows are demands: "let me out," "let me in," "pet me," "play with me," "feed me!" As the cat becomes more passionate and insistent, their meows grow more strident and lower-pitched. Meow demands most frequently take place in the wee hours of the night when owners want to sleep.

I heard a noise at night that sounded sort of like a cat, but it kinda sounded like a frog too. It was almost like a kitten was crying for its mamma. I would highly, highly recommend adopting another kitten or cat. Wondering why an 8 week old kitten cries when alone is sort of like wondering why a toddler cries when left alone.
