Our program begins with a new volunteer orientation — an informative introduction held once a month to introduce you to the Sacramento SPCA and the opportunities we have available. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. We do offer youth group activities and community service projects that can be done from home. We are hopeful that we will be able to schedule New Volunteer Orientation dates by winter of this year. Our volunteers are indispensable. They come from all walks of life to donate thousands of hours of their time in nearly every PHS/SPCA department, extending the capacity for our paid staff to help animals and the people of San Mateo County.
